Sean Rush grew up through the ranks of Baltimore Football Club. Rush was the second American to ever be called up to a team in Italy's top 2 divisions, Serie B side Treviso F.B.C. The first was Alexi Lalas who played for Calcio Padova. As Treviso reached the Serie A in 2006 the coaching staff was changed, bringing in an entirely new outfit. Rush and a few others who were expected to be a part of the 2006 season were not offered another deal.
Rush signed for Crystal Palace Baltimore of the USL Second Division for their inaugural 2007 season. He made 12 appearances and scored an important goal in the 92nd minute against New Hampshire on July 21, 2007 to keep Palace's playoff hopes alive. After a season at Palace, Rush decided to take the advice of a close friend and return to Brazil to play. He signed for Osvaldo Cruz of the Serie A-3 in Sao Paulo where he played until December 2008. Rush holds an EU passport which makes him eligible to play in Europe.
