Real Maryland Signs Former DC United Players

 

April 22, 2009 -- Silver Spring, MD – Adding depth to their roster for the first game of their second season in the United Soccer Leagues, Real Maryland FC adds four former DC United Players.  The player additions include Jeff and Pat Carroll of Springfield, VA, Ryan Cordeiro of Highland Mills, NY and Bolivian midfielder Sergio Salas of Falls Church, VA. 

 

Jeff Carroll, who was selected 39th overall in the 2006 MLS Superdraft made 3 appearances with DC United.  Pat played his collegiate soccer at West Virginia University and made his MLS debut last year for United against the Houston Dynamo on July 24, 2008.

 

After attending the University of Connecticut, the New York born Ryan Cordeiro went on to make 7 appearances for DC United.

 

Bolivian midfielder Sergio Salas, signed for Real Maryland FC after impressing Coach Hudson in a tryout back in December. Previously with DC United, Salas went on to play for Bolivian team Club Deportivo Aurora.

 

“I’m very pleased that were able to bring such quality players to Real Maryland FC, said Coach Hudson.  “They will do very well.”

 

This Saturday, April 25th Real Maryland FC will open up the 2009 Season at its home stadium, Richard Montgomery High School, with a highly anticipated match against the Bermuda Hogges.
