Silver Spring, MD – As Real Maryland prepares for the upcoming 2012 season, the Monarchs are pleased to welcome Jennifer Cook, MS, ATC from Full Stride Wellness as the Club’s new Head Athletic Trainer.
A native of Reisterstown, MD, Cook graduated from North Florida with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training in 2005. She continued her education at Towson University, where she earned her master’s degree in Health Administration in 2007 as a graduate assistant. At Towson, she also worked at Johns Hopkins with the cross-country, track, water polo, women's soccer and tennis teams.
After receiving her MS at Towson, Ms. Cook joined Morgan State where she served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer while working with the cheerleading team and assisting with the football team. Prior to joining Real Maryland FC, Jennifer was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Tennessee Tech University.
Since returning home to the D.C. Metropolitan Area, Jennifer founded Full Stride Wellness. As owner of the facility, the center is able to provide countless opportunities to experience healthy living, from massage therapy and education courses for athletic trainers and physical therapist to kid skill camps and adult sports tournaments.
“With Jen’s experience in both the field of athletic training and health,” said General Manager David Noyes. “We are excited to add her to our staff and look forward to a positive 2012 season.
Real Maryland FC is a proud member of the United Soccer Leagues where it participates in the Player Development League and the Super Y League.

Silver Spring, MD – With another round of tryouts on the horizon for the 2012 Real Maryland FC Super Y League Teams on January 25, 26 & 30, the Monarchs are proud to announce that Roque Lopez, who played for the U16 SYL Boys Team this past summer, has been selected to the Puerto Rico U20 Men’s National Team Pool for 2012.
Roque was born in Puerto Rico and played for the Tigres Club when he was 6-7 years old. His Mother is from Puerto Rico and his Father is from Honduras and currently, he is representing FC Frederick Premier U17, Urbana High School and the Real Maryland FC Super Y League U16 Team.

Silver Spring, MD – A member of Real Maryland’s inaugural PDL squad, defender Alex Lee, was selected today in the first round of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft with the 11th overall selection by FC Dallas.
Lee, a Rockville, MD, native who attended Magruder High School, was an anchor for the Monarchs defense after joining the team in June, playing in six matches and scoring one goal.

Eleven Monarchs Invited to SYL ODP National Camp
Silver Spring, Maryland – In addition to the successful play of all Real Maryland FC Teams in 2011, the year will conclude with the crowning announcement of the Monarch Players selected to the Super Y League ODP National Training Camp held in Bradenton, Florida. The Monarchs awarded this opportunity are:
