Dr. Kenneth Fine Named Real Maryland FC Team Physician
Silver Spring, MD -- Dr. Kenneth Fine, Orthopedic Surgeon from The Orthopedic Center in Rockville, Maryland, has been named the new team physician for Real Maryland FC. Kenneth Fine, MD is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine. After receiving both his undergraduate and medical degree from Northwestern University, he completed an orthopedic surgical residency and sports medicine fellowship at University of Pennsylvania. While at Northwestern, he earned three varsity letters as a member of the soccer team. Dr. Fine has served as the director of Sports Medicine at George Washington University as well as Children's Medical Center. He has extensive experience in caring for athletes at all levels, from recreational to elite. For more than fifteen years, Dr. Fine served as team physician for the George Washington University Varsity Teams. He has served as team physician for Washington DC Public Schools as well as several private schools. On the Olympic and national team level, Dr. Fine provided medical care for the 1996 Summer Olympic Soccer Teams. He was the co-medical director for the World Figure Skating Championships in 2003. In 2008, he served at the Olympic Training Center in Michigan where he was also the physician for the Junior U.S. Boxing Championships. He has accompanied the US Fast-track Speed Skating Team to China and again this year to Russia. “Real Maryland FC is proud to have Dr. Fine on Staff as the Club’s Official Team Physician,” says General Manager David Noyes. “We are looking out for the best interests of our players and potential future players.” In addition, Dr. Fine has provided medical care for professional athletes including Cirque du Soleil, the Boston Ballet and the Joffrey Ballet. Dr. Fine's experience with soccer has included team physician responsibilities for the George Washington University soccer teams, The Washington Mustangs, and coverage for the 1996 Olympic soccer games that were played at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. In addition, Dr. Fine was the physician in charge of the medical care for the first East Coast MLS try-outs. Dr. Fine lives in Potomac, Maryland with his wife and two children. In addition to being passionate about sports (which includes coaching his son's soccer team), he also loves music and plays in a rock band when he is not in the office, operating room or on the soccer field!
