Monarchs Host Northern Virginia on Family Day Real Maryland Travel to Face Carolina Dynamo to Begin Busy Weekend Silver Spring, MD – Real Maryland FC return home to Roy Lester Stadium on the campus of Richard Montgomery High School on Sunday, June 26 when they welcome the Northern Virginia Royals to Rockville with first kick set for 4:00 p.m. This Sunday is also Family Day with Real Maryland, featuring a raffle, giveaways, and halftime entertainment, and families attending the game are eligible for a special ticket offer of just $5 for parents and $2 for children with at least 1 child and 1 adult. The match will cap off an important two day stretch for the Monarchs who will be returning from a game against the first placed Carolina Dynamo to begin the weekend. Real Maryland (4-3-2, 14 pts.) will be looking to reverse their recent fortunes against Northern Virginia (6-4-0, 18 pts.) after suffering two 2-0 road defeats at the hands of the Royals in the past two weeks. In the final matchup of the season against their regional rivals, the Monarchs have an opportunity to even the season series between the teams having already defeated the Royals once this season, a 2-0 win in their home opener. This weekend’s matches also give the Monarchs a chance to inch closer to the top of the South Atlantic Division standings. Real Maryland begins their weekend on Saturday, June 25, with a trip to North Carolina to face the division leading Carolina Dynamo (6-1-1, 19 pts.) who are coming off their first draw of the season. However, the Monarchs are certainly aware of the task ahead of them in North Carolina, as the Dynamo have been the only team able to defeat Real Maryland at home this season. The Dynamo have been a regional power since joining the Premier Development League in 2003, winning four division titles and only failing to make the playoffs three times.
