Real Maryland FC Finalizes 2012 Super Y League Coaching Staff On the eve of Real Maryland FC sending their Super Y League teams down to the United Soccer League’s North American Finals for the fourth time in the Franchise’s first four years, the Monarchs are proud to announce new additions to the coaching staff for 2012. Lewis “Tucker” Schrumm and Carlos Montalvan will join the girl’s side of RMFC’s Super Y League Program in the age groups of U13 and U14. On the Monarch’s Boy’s side, we will see a new face with great experience - Coach Victor Carcamo who will take on the U16 Boys’ Team. Carlos Montalvan, Jr. attended Tufts University where he received a fully funded education merit-based scholarship for his Masters of Arts in Teaching. Coach Montalvan also attended Tufts University for his undergraduate studies receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and History where he was Dean’s List twice while playing for the Men’s Varsity Soccer Team for three years. Coach Montalvan is currently the Girl’s Varsity Soccer Coach at Northwood High School. He is also a teacher at the school and has been involved in both the Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer Programs. In 2011, Coach Montalvan took on a flailing RMFC U17 boys Team three games into the season and led them to within a game of qualification for the USL’s Super Y League North American Finals. He will take on the responsibility of the Girl’s U14 Team for the Monarchs in 2012. Real Maryland FC will also be adding Lewis “Tucker” Schrumm to the staff on the girl’s side as the new RMFC SYL U13 Coach. Coach Schrumm is currently teaching and coaching at Blake High School. He has extensive experience in coaching at the Varsity and High Club level where he has led teams in WAGS and NCSL and other High School Varsity Programs. One of Coach Schrumm’s most notable accomplishments is he coached South River High School’s Varsity Program as an assistant where the team won two Class 2A State Championships. There he helped developed and coordinated seasonal training sessions for the players. Victor Carcamo, being from El Salvador, has a wide and vast range of experience in the world of coaching. Before moving to Maryland, Coach Carcamo was a Head & Assistant Club Coach and Varsity Program Head & Assistant Coach for teams in Pasadena, CA. The Clubs that include his tenure are CZ Elite Soccer Club, Pasadena Soccer Academy and Strikers Soccer Club. The Varsity High School Programs he was involved with were La Salle H.S., Pasadena H.S. and San Gabriel H.S. In El Salvador, Coach Carcamo was the Head Coach of C.D. Tehuacan where the team finished third in the 2nd Division of the El Salvadorian Professional Leagues. Before his time at C.D. Tehuacan, Coach Carcamo was the Head Coach of FC Derby where they captured the championship of the El Salvadorian Third Division. “In this constantly changing landscape of American Soccer I have found that adjustments are necessary to be done quickly in order to help further the development of the player and the Club,” said GM David Noyes. “I am pleased with our ability to attract such high level coaches who understand how to communicate their passion of the game to the players.” Real Maryland FC will offer tryouts for teams in both the boys and girls divisions from ages U13-U17 for the SYL 2012 December. The tryouts will take place at Richard Montgomery High School Stadium Field in Rockville, MD in December. Please visit www.realmaryland.us to register online.
